Nestled amongst the tangled grass and seaweed littered sand of South-Eastern Australia’s coastlines, shallow nest scrapes of the Hooded Plover can be found. Sand dune habitats provide sanctuary to the last remaining 3000 individual birds. You may be lucky enough to spot one of these charming little birds, skittering across the sand, in search of insects and crustaceans, burrowed along the shoreline.
