Fluttering amongst the dense foliage of the Honey Gem Grevillea in backyard gardens across Australia, the New Holland Honeyeater busily collects the nectar of the exquisitely delicate dusk-coloured blooms. These two species have co-evolved, with the bird’s uniquely tapered beak designed to harvest the nectar deep within the flower, and in this process transfer pollen for the plant’s reproduction. This miraculous process is known as pollination and is essential for life on our Earth.
